Support for the Strata Community Association (SCA) remains a tradition at Strata Engineering Solutions beyond the retirement of former managing director, Wayne Costin, an active contributor to the SCA over many years and a very keen golfer.

The next generation of golfing enthusiasts at SES was waving the SCA pennant for the firm with a hit-out at the 2019 Strata Community Express Glass Golf Day, held at Moore Park Golf Club in fair autumn weather on 10 May 2019.

“We all had an amazing time discovering our hidden inner Tiger Woods,” said SES engineer and seasoned golfer, Christiana Straney. SES engineer, Tom Belovai, and PhD-candidate SES engineer, Tanaz Dhondy, were surprisingly skilled for first-time golfers, applying drive and the deep understanding of physics to remediate deficits in finessed technique. Will Davis, SES engineer, played with his grandfather’s set of clubs, which assisted him (through good luck or design) to take the coveted ‘SES Team Player Of The Day’ title by the 19th hole.

The SES golfing team thanked Tina Green at sister-firm Costin Roe Consulting for organising the registrations and carts, and appreciation was also extended to Moore Park Golf Club for handling the logistics surrounding the event.

The Ambrose-style SCA Golf Day is a definite highlight on the SCA annual events calendar and always well supported by sponsors including Strata Engineering Solutions. SES banners were proudly erected towards the 4th hole, and Team SES will return next year.
